Artist's Statement : North, East, South, West...people can now move by many different kinds of transportation.  Ancient people moved step by step, so each step seemed more meaningful.  I tried to create an image of time from the past through the present to the future.

Technique : Machine piecing, Hand applique, Hand quilting

Material : Cotton (old, kasuri, Taisho chintz, pattern-dyed)
