Artist's Statement : The origin of the design is a spiral staircase.  It was very difficult to make gradations both within and between the blue curved shapes. Emiko Sensei advised me "It might be better to put in slim lines to clarify the crazy pattern." It was very hard to make, but was very satisfactory.

Technique : Machine Piecing, Machine Quilting
